Ting Cho Chien
Ting Cho Chien was born in Sarawak, Malaysia's Miri, in 1970. In 1987, he completed a Fine Art Diploma programme at Malaysia's Central Academy of Art. After receiving his degree, he worked at Art Trainer from 1990 to 1997 before turning full-time into an artist. In 1996, the Metropolitan Gallery of Fine Art presented him with the "Cornucopia of Malaysia Arts," and in 1997, he received the Pertandingan Karya Seni Kreatif Kebangsaan PNB.
He like to use watercolour, oil, or acrylic paint on paper or canvas to illustrate his drawings. His signature and favourite subject to illustrate was "Batik." One of the most difficult aspects of his artwork is the fabric intricacies, shadows of the faults, and the vibrant colour of the silk.
