Seth Devan Mermaid Series 1989

Deven Seth was an artist. Born in 1944, Deven Seth passed away in 2000.

Seth graduated with an A.M.T. from Lucknow University in 1964. He was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. From Delhi College of Art (University of Delhi), he later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1976.

Since 1964, he has had paintings on display. In India (such as at the Dhoomimal Art Gallery in New Delhi and the Taj Art Gallery in Bombay) and overseas, he participated in numerous solo and group shows. He had lifetime memberships in both the Bombay Art Society and AIFACS (New Delhi). The National Gallery of Modern Art has a collection of his work.

In 1991, Chandra Shekhar, then-prime minister, presented him with the Kala Shri award.
