The presented art is a set of watercolours on paper by the artist. It showcased the beauty of nature amidst a peaceful kampung life.

A.B. Ibrahim (Ibrahim Abu Bakar) was born in 1925 in Kedah, Malaysia and died in 1977.

  • A.B. Ibrahim was based mainly in Alor Setar but spent most of his time in Penang, where his paintings were sold along Penang Road and Chulia Street
  • Founding member of  Persatuan Pelukis Melayu, Malaya (Society of Malay Artists, Malaya)
  • Watercolour was his main medium. He excelled in romanticized local landscapes. He also does oil paintings which are rare in the art market
  • His paintings can be viewed at the National Art Gallery, Kedah State Gallery and the royal museum in Alor Setar
